What is a cookie/tracker?

The term “cookie” should be understood in a broad sense. It also includes the trackers installed on your computer when you visit a website if you have given your consent to this. Cookies and trackers are used to collect information about your browsing history and send you services that are suitable for your device (computer, mobile phone or tablet).
Cookies are managed by your web browser and only the issuer of a cookie is able to read or edit the information it contains.
